Mandatory Requirement for those who are Renewing their License

For those who are renewing their licenses you will need to complete the online University of Pittsburgh Child Abuse Continuing Education course to meet the requirement for your license renewal and prescriptive privileges renewal. The Pitt tutorial is FREE and informative. For those who have yet to complete this mandatory requirement, the board of the Philadelphia Chapter for the Pennsylvania Coalition for Nurse Practitioners wanted to share this opportunity with you.

Click here for the website. The link to the CE activity is listed on the website.

Word of caution for license renewal: It takes 7-10 days for the CE certificate to be processed. The state will not renew any of your licenses until they receive the CE certificate.

Therefore nurses can't wait until the last few days to renew. Once completed, PA State replies with an email noting the license is not renewed until PA has receipt of the child abuse recognition completion. You are not permitted to mail the certificate. Pitt's CE approval site communicates with PA state license to recognize completion of the child abuse CEs which is so convenient.
